1. Posters design:
Montreux Jazz Festival 2021: This illustration was created for the poster contest of that year on the theme “Restart”.
After a year of silence (no festival due to Covid), the festival is reborn from it's ashes (like the mythic Phoenix bird). The jazz trumpet musician can go from silence to music again. I used only the three primary colours for more impact: the blue calming background balancing the dynamic red and yellow visual.

Fondation de la Mer: Another poster illustration on the importance of protecting the oceans. This contest was unfortunately cancelled but I definitely enjoyed drawing this!
I wanted to create a drawing that would chock and stop the viewers, the best way to make it unforgettable.
The beautiful turtle gets stuck in a net and will not survive. The plastic bags emphasise the human pollution of the ocean, resulting in the destruction of the corals, going from bright coloured and varied on the left, to slowly dying and whitening corals on the right.

2. Children's illustrations:
I created these first illustrations for a short Christmas story called “The chimney” that I wrote a few years ago for my daughters.
Axel moves into a new house, this is great except for a small problem: there is no chimney! How will Santa bring his presents this year? But Axel is a resourceful little boy and he's got some ideas to help Santa into his house anyway...

The following character illustrations were made for another short story that I wrote called “The shell”, about the unlikely friendship of two special animals: Camille, the turtle born without a shell and Arhur, the clumsy flamingo that loves collecting human objects, making him an outcast amongst his pairs.

3. Illustration for “Celle qui attend”:
I wrote this story in 2014 for the short crime story contest organized every year by the “Toulouse Polars du Sud” festival. The theme for that year was “One month late”.
I was awarded the first price and my story was published in the “Toulouse Mag” magazine of November 2014.
More recently I decided it needed some illustrations: I thus made one for the cover and one for each of the four parts of the story. I chose to give it a charcoal and ink drawn look (although they are digitally drawn), keeping the illustrations very dark to reflect the atmosphere of the story and using only red touches with a smoother finish to give it some contrast.
The short story, written in french, can be found on my blog macabanemagique.com

4. End of the year greeting's cards:
These last two years I had some fun creating digital cards to send to my clients at the end of the year. A great opportunity to test out different illustration styles. It also allowed me to practise my animation skills...

Thanks for watching!
